TrueWorld is an audiovisual installation and listening environment made of flat-panel speakers and a CRT television. Drawing from home collections and 1990s video stores, fragments of re-recorded found footage and analogue video feedback melt into one another. By enforcing the unpredictability of glitches and the deliberate degradation of physical media, as a trace of human touch, the work reclaims a sense of autonomy and physical experience within a technological landscape shaped by subscriptions and attention economy. Aiming to invoke the ghost of obsolete technologies, TrueWorld recontextualizes our relationship to the current limitless and disembodied media landscape.
